We are aiming to improve the quality of life for individuals with and without neurological impairments. Our services help bridge the lack of enrichment programs at healthcare facilities through music. Our team approach to music sessions allows for individualized attention and care. Participants in our sessions engage socially, cognitively, creatively, and experience an average 30% increase in a positive mood.
Research has shown, and we know to be true, that music can reach an untapped potential in people experiencing Alzheimer's and other neurological impairments. Through the power of music, we seek to re-engage static minds with new life.
In 2016, we conducted a market research study surveying over 100 healthcare facilities in South Florida. We asked a variety of questions regarding the need for music programs. Our research found that 76% of healthcare providers were interested in innovative services. 82% mentioned they were interested in an interactive music program and 99% said the interactive component was important to them.
Our results suggest that facilities are looking for innovative & interactive music programs. We create and implement music programs across the state of Florida. We also partner with local colleges, universities/high schools to develop chapters of Mind&Melody. The chapters help the organization recruit, fundraise, and raise awareness in the community.
Mind&Melody has many team members across the state of Florida dedicated to helping progress our mission and vision. Our programs are the most effective approach because they have been proven to work, are sustainable, and involve the community while awakening the lives of those experiencing neurological impairments. Our work teaches people of all ages the importance of civic engagement and fights the stigma against aging and mental health.
Since 2014, we have delivered over 13,000 music sessions and served over 2,000 individuals annually across Florida, New York, and New Mexico.
