As a non-profit educational institution, Miami Children's Museum enhances the lives of all children through our unique arts and educational programs. The Museum seeks to include all demographics in Miami's diverse community by serving as a beacon of inclusivity in the South Florida community for all children and families. The work that children’s museums do is that much more important, by creating a safe space that teaches the value of the arts, where respect and kindness are fostered, and are integral in bringing people of all backgrounds together.

Miami Children's Museum continues to be committed to provide an accessible space for all children to play, learn, imagine, and create. We work hard to create the best immersive learning opportunities which emphasize core early childhood concepts through informal exploration. This Give Miami Day, we invite you to join Miami Children’s Museum in becoming a catalyst for community change and support our Very Important Potential (VIP) Program

The Museum is firmly committed to reaching children with different learning abilities and economic backgrounds. Our Very Important Potential (VIP) Program meets the needs of low-income families, underserved and low-performing schools and children and families with special needs. Through the VIP Program, the Museum continues to expand arts-enriched programs for low-income and/or underserved groups, as well as children on the autism spectrum and with related special needs and economic disadvantages. Supporting the VIP program means the museum can continue to offer the below programming:

  1. Very Important Potential Program - which reduces disparities in access to arts, cultural and educational enrichment by providing accessible programs and free admission to families whose opportunities are limited by geography, ethnicity, economics, and ability.
  2. S.M.A.R.T Afterschool Enrichment Program - a fee-waived satellite after-school program and mentorship for elementary students that attend Title 1 schools located throughout the county, from Goulds to Miami Gardens.
  3. Sensory Friendly Saturday Program - a fee-waived sensory friendly experience for children special needs the opportunity to explore the Museum in a sensory-modified supportive setting with limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments.
  4. Summer Camp Scholarships: full eight week summer camp scholarships for low-income and at-risk youth with plenty of opportunities to make new friends while learning about something new each week.
  5. Theater Programming - an in-house theatre troupe, offering high-quality, original shows to increase children's engagement with the arts.
