La 4ª Pared
MarGi Happenings is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) arts organization founded in Miami in 2019 with a mission to enrich the cultural life of Miami’s Hispanic community through high-quality theater and performing arts. We promote artistic excellence, support local and international talent, and strive to make the performing arts accessible to all.
Led by co-founders Marilyn Romero, a seasoned and highly regarded actress and director, and Gigi González, a retired Miami Dade College professor with over four decades in theater, our team brings deep experience and passion to every production. Despite our youth as an organization, our impact has been meaningful and far-reaching.
When the pandemic disrupted traditional theater, we responded with creativity and resilience. In collaboration with the Koubek Center of Miami Dade College, we launched Teatro OnScreen Fest 2020, the first virtual Zoom theater festival, supporting companies from Latin America, Spain, and the U.S.—connecting global voices at a time of isolation.
Since then, we've continued to grow:
- Presented award-winning and classic works by Yasmina Reza, Harold Pinter, Abelardo Estorino, José Sanchis Sinisterra, Anton Chekhov and Virgilio Piñera among others, to sold-out Miami audiences.
- Restaged productions in collaboration with the Miami Book Fair International and Miami Dade College.
- Brought our work to the international stage in Madrid, Spain.
- Maintained a strong commitment to showcasing diverse voices, elevating Spanish-language theater, and supporting Hispanic artists.
This year, we are proud to announce the realization of a long-held dream: La 4ta Pared Cultural Arts Center — our very own theatrical home. This vibrant new space will welcome artists, audiences, and the community, expand our ability to inspire, nurture emerging talent, and support other performing arts groups in the region.

Mission
MarGi Happenings is an arts organization dedicated to creating, producing, and promoting theatrical productions and performing arts events that reflect and celebrate the rich multicultural character of Miami. Through our work, we support both local and international artistic talent, foster the growth of a vibrant arts movement, and cultivate an engaged, diverse audience that values the transformative power of the performing arts.
Rooted in the belief that theater is a universal language, MarGi Happenings brings together individuals from different cultural and social backgrounds. In doing so, we aim to contribute meaningfully to a more tolerant, inclusive, and unified society, while strengthening and enriching the cultural fabric of our city.
Our mission is not only to entertain, but to inspire understanding, build community, and create artistic experiences—“happenings”—that elevate lives and make a lasting impact on the cultural identity of Miami.
