The Macedonia Community Outreach Ministries (MCOM) Summer School reading camp is a free, six-week academic enrichment program serving children in the Little Bahamas of Coconut Grove and neighboring communities.
Our program provides targeted and intensive reading interventions to help students strengthen literacy skills and build confidence in math concepts. In addition to academic support, our Freedom School component promotes cultural awareness and civic engagement by integrating Black history and cultural studies into the curriculum. Through this holistic approach, students gain a deeper understanding of their collective heritage and the vital role it plays in shaping both their identity and society.
