Ballet for Young People is Miami City Ballet’s commitment to breaking down barriers and making the performing arts accessible to all.

Presented by MCB School’s Pre-Professional dancers and Company members, these interactive performances feature live narration and fully costumed excerpts from classics like A Midsummer Night’s Dream and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® - bringing great works of literature to life through dance.

Each December, thousands of students attend a performance of The Nutcracker® through the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) Cultural Passport Program, supported with educational guides that explore the history and magic of ballet.

Together, we can raise the curtain - and inspire young audiences in our community.

Mission

Miami City Ballet's mission is to produce and present the highest level of dance performances throughout Florida, the United States and abroad; train young aspiring dancers; and develop Miami City Ballet School into a leader of dance education.
