MISSION

The Greater Miami Chamber Foundation's (GMCF) core mission is to support the Greater Miami business community through leadership development, resilience and civic engagement to foster growth that benefits the broader community.

The mission of Leadership Miami® is to prepare the next generation of Miamians to address vital issues affecting Miami-Dade County and meet future challenges. To achieve this, sessions focus on developing the leadership skills needed in today’s fast-changing business climate while encouraging further exploration and action on specific community issues.

VISION

To cultivate a thriving Greater Miami Community that attracts and empowers businesses, leaders, and residents to grow and prosper - now and for generations to come.

HOW WE GET THERE

We provide financial support to organizations, causes, and individuals whose efforts align with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's Impact Goals and our core strengths.  By fostering collaboration between business and community, we ignite shared growth and long-term prosperity.

HISTORY

For more than four decades, the Foundation has funded programming for a wide variety of projects. Originally conceived in 1968 by members of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce “to conduct projects, programs and studies deemed to be in the interest of providing the best possible urban environment for all citizens,” the Foundation evolved to be proactive in addressing issues considered paramount to the area’s progress and performance as the largest Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in the nation’s third largest state.  In pursuit of that mission, it seeks also to build Greater Miami’s reputation as a gateway for international trade and commerce.

OUR IMPACT

Through the Foundation (GMCF), we have awarded scholarships to hundreds of Leadership Miami® fellows who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to participate in this signature leadership development program. Over the past 47 years, Leadership Miami has produced some of our top community leaders, including: Former Florida Lt. Gov. and FIU President, Jeanette Núñez; Carlos Migoya, CEO at Jackson Health; Art Noriega, City of Miami Manager; Francesca de Quesada Covey, Miami-Dade County’s Chief Innovation and Economic Development Officer; Felipe Basulto, Market President – Retail in South Florida at TD Bank, Jaret Davis, Senior Vice President at Greenberg Traurig, P.A.; Kim Griffin Hunter, Managing Partner at Deloitte; Michael Lewis, Publisher of Miami Today; Christine Barney, CEO of RBB; Carlos Fernandez Guzman, CEO of Pacific National Bank; Karyn Cunningham, Mayor of Palmetto Bay; and many other leaders at the helm of both private and public institutions.

OUR GOAL

This year, the funds raised will directly support the Leadership Miami® program—an impactful initiative that empowers emerging leaders and drives community revitalization projects. These efforts are designed to strengthen our nonprofit sector, create lasting change for residents in need, and leave a positive, sustainable impact on the vibrant city we are proud to call home. Your donation will directly help us achieve the following:

  • Provide scholarships to deserving leaders,
  • Provide seed money for Leadership Miami teams and community projects,
  • Enrich the program experience for participants,
  • Build a more sustainable community by strengthening our local nonprofits.
