Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond a parent's cancer. Kesem's flagship program, Camp Kesem, operates over 130 free summer camps across the country for children ages 6 to 18 who have been impacted by a parent's cancer. Everything we raise throughout the year goes towards funding the children's attendance to this summer camp. Kesem programs have a lasting impact on children by providing them a peer-support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence and strengthens their communication skills. In 2019, Kesem served more than 10,200 children in 44 states - all funded by generous donations from individuals and corporate support. In 2020 and 2021, we held a virtual summer camp due to COVID restrictions and aimed to serve our campers to make them feel the magic even in such unfortunate circumstances. This past year, we held an in-person camp and bring the magic back for not only our returning campers, but new ones and counselors too! We are so excited to be able to bring so many of our events back in person and reutrn that magic to our campers, counselors, and supporters.
To support children through and beyond a parent's cancer with innovative, fun-filled programs that foster a lasting community.
