Since the KB Piano Festival's inception in 2018, artists from over 14 different nationalities have performed for Key Biscayne audiences. International and local dignitaries frequently attend KBPF events while the events also generate wide support from local arts and music enthusiasts. Over its seasons, the KBPF has attracted more than 2,500 music lovers during in-person performances with millions of viewers accessing its virtual events (its own platform, Facebook and Vimeo).
The festival strongly believes in an equal spread of culture, to all socioeconomic groups, cultures, races, and ethnicities alike. In 2022, we held "Keys on the Key," a 3-day event where we presented more than 50 pianists of different ethnicities, age groups, and styles from all around Miami-Dade County, with the support of the Village of Key Biscayne, the Knight Foundation, and the Miami-Dade County., with the support of the Village of Key Biscayne, the Knight Foundation, and the Miami-Dade County. The Festival's flagship event is its holiday concert performed by the Miami Ocean Orchestra in the heart of Key Biscayne, below the famous Christmas tree, an event not to be missed. The upcoming 2023-2024 KBPF season is no different, promising to be just as captivating and mesmerizing as seasons past. Events are free and are open to any worldwide music lover who would like to attend.
The Key Biscayne Piano Festival's mission is to catalyze culture on the island of Key Biscayne while showcasing the island (#KeyOfArts) as a regional cultural beacon at a global scale. We believe that music is an invaluable tool for bringing people together, which is why community-building is at the heart of the KB Piano Festival's mission as well, offering volunteering and educational opportunities to all. Every intercultural event is a community affair, engaging the island's residents in support of its programming.
