Now, over 64 years later, the parade has approximately 55 entries, and is renowned for being "the Best Lilʼ Hometown Parade in South Florida!" The all-volunteer Parade Committee now consists of 20-25 Key Biscayne residents who organize entries from all over South Florida. The 2024 parade will be our 65th 4th of July Parade!
Each year, the parade received resounding support from the community and has become an event that everyone looks forward to. We hope to continue this tradition for years to come! The parade costs as much as $70,000 to put together; we have bands that are both local and who come in from other parts of the country, stilt walkers, parade floats, prizes, and more. We have just a few dozen volunteers that put in thousands of hours of their time to pull it together. Please support us in continuing this fabulous annual event!
The goal of the Key Biscayne 4th of July Parade Committee is to preserve the parade as a representation of community, patriotism and American culture that has survived on Key Biscayne for over half a century. Free of charge and open to all residents of Miami-Dade County as well as tourists, the parade is an open invitation for all to remember our national independence and celebrate our heritage. The parade attendees also have access to some of South Florida and Miami-Dade Countyʼs treasures: the Key Biscayne Lighthouse, Biscayne Bay and Crandon Park.
