INIT is a non-profit organization with a mission to empower underserved communities in Miami to launch careers in technology. We accomplish this by establishing INIT chapters at local colleges, universities, and municipalities, fostering inclusive communities that provide support and resources to anyone looking to break into the field. Our chapters are community-led and carry out experiential learning and career development programs to help members learn new skills, build projects, enhance their resume, prepare for interviews, find a mentor, and more. We also work with our industry partners to bring access to internship and job opportunities to our chapters, creating pathways for them into the industry and helping them achieve economic mobility.
We currently have chapters at the following locations:
- Florida International University (established 2014)
- Professional & Alumni Chapter (2022)
- Miami Dade College - Kendall, North, and Wolfson (2023)
- University of Miami (2024)
- City of Miami (2024)
