Music That Moves. Community That Matters.
Picture this: A warm evening in Coconut Grove. Families strolling into Armbrister Park with lawn chairs and coolers. Children dancing on the grass. Seniors swaying to melodies that remind them of home. And on stage, world-class musicians bringing straight-ahead jazz back to where it belongs—in the heart of the community.
This is Jazzin' The Grove. And it's completely free.
Our Story
The I Am Project started with a simple belief: music has the power to educate, inspire, and unite. What began as intimate music clinics and conversations with artists has grown into something much bigger—a movement to reclaim Village West as a vibrant arts destination and gathering place.
We're not just presenting concerts. We're rebuilding cultural infrastructure in the Little Bahamas Business District. We're creating inter-generational spaces where seniors reconnect with live music and young people find their voice. We're proving that access to art shouldn't depend on your zip code or the size of your wallet.
No tickets. No barriers. Just pure jazz, under the stars, for everyone.
Why It Matters Now
In a time when arts funding is disappearing and live music venues are closing, community-centered spaces matter more than ever. Our seniors deserve to experience the music that shaped their lives. Our young people need platforms to speak, to create, to imagine the future they want to build.
Jazz isn't just entertainment—it's conversation. It's history. It's resistance and joy wrapped into one. And Coconut Grove has always been its home.
The Real Cost of "Free"
Here's the truth: keeping these concerts free to the public isn't free for us. Every performance requires:
- Fair pay for world-class musicians
- Sound equipment and production
- Partnerships with local service organizations
- Safe, welcoming spaces for all ages
Your donation makes this possible. Whether it's $10 or $1,000, every contribution keeps the music playing and the community thriving.
Join the Movement
When you give to The I Am Project, you're not just supporting a concert series. You're investing in:
- Cultural preservation in one of Miami's most historic neighborhoods
- Economic revitalization for Little Bahamas Business District
- Inter-generational connection through shared artistic experiences
- Youth empowerment and creative expression
Here's our ask: After you donate, invite 10 friends to join you. Share why this matters. Ask them to give what they can. That's how movements grow—one person, one story, one note at a time.
The Music Can't Wait
Every dollar brings another evening of soul-stirring jazz to the Grove. Another chance for neighbors to gather. Another opportunity for a child to discover their passion or a senior to rediscover their joy.
The legacy of jazz lives in community. And community lives through support like yours.
Ready to keep the music alive? Your gift today ensures that the sound of jazz continues to echo through Coconut Grove for generations to come.
