Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School

Holy Cross Lutheran School is a ministry of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and serves the City of North Miami and surrounding communities. Our school provides a Christ-centered, nurturing environment that challenges students academically and supports their social and emotional growth. Our staff works very hard to make every opportunity available to our students. This year, we are asking for your support in two critical areas: expanding our athletics program and launching an entrepreneurship program for our middle school students.

Each year, our family surveys indicate that sports are the top area in which families and students would like more opportunities to participate. Following COVID, most of our athletics programming was paused. Over the past three years, we have restarted elementary basketball, middle school boys’ and girls’ basketball, middle school soccer, middle school girls’ volleyball, and middle school flag football. Our students have loved participating in these programs; however, program fees do not cover all the costs. We are asking for your support to make these programs sustainable and accessible to our students. We know that students who participate in sports often do better in school and are more likely to succeed in higher education and their careers.

The second initiative we are seeking support for this year is the launch of an entrepreneurship program for our middle school students. This program will allow them to design and start a business with guidance from a seasoned entrepreneur. Our middle school students are highly motivated to start their own businesses to support themselves and their families, and we believe the skills they develop through building a business will serve them for the rest of their lives.
