Our partners, counsel, associates and administrative staff all play key roles in creating and executing our community involvement initiatives. This collaborative vision strengthens HM&B's corporate citizenship and invigorates our drive to give back to the community we serve. A strong level of shared experiences and backgrounds exists within HM&B, which helps build a resilient sense of identity and an affinity for cultivating relationships. We encourage everyone to serve as a firm liaison to the community whether through educational workshops, outreach programs, sponsorships or mentorship.

In 2015, through the collaboration with the Miami-Dade Public Schools Partners Program, HM&B launched its official partnership with and adoption of Brownsville Middle School. The vision of the partnership is to inspire an educational environment that has high expectations for academic rigor and the creation of a culture of pride and excellence. The HM&B Brownsville Law Academy and Mock Courtroom supports a culture of academic growth for middle school students centered on a legal studies curriculum in a 21st century mock trial courtroom. In addition, the HM&B Brownsville mock courtroom serves as an existential learning space for students to view real time local mock trials from local law firms and other legal organizations.

Mission

Our mission is to provide The Criminal Justice and Law (CJAL) Academy at Brownsville Middle School provides students with a complete educational experience.

In addition to our on-campus, state-of-the-art courtroom, students participate in a rigorous yet meaningful curriculum. CJAL provides various options for learning; from engaging with guest speakers, to analyzing legal hearings and trials at various courthouses in Miami-Dade County. Furthermore, their educational experience is expanded through internship and participation in competitions that Miami-Dade Public Schools has to offer. The students within the CJAL Academy have the desire, dedication, passion and work ethic needed to be successful. However, what is needed is the financial support to take full advantage of everything the CJAL curriculum has to offer. Funding for this educational experience will cover travel cost, uniforms, and entrance fees when necessary.

Thank you for supporting our future legal professionals.
