Hand-In-Hand Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students with disabilities and their families throughout Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. We offer programs and services that help our youth build confidence, independence, and essential life skills while empowering families with valuable resources and support.
Our Programs:
Fit With Friends: Once every month we hold a social and physical opportunity event that falls under our Fit With Friends guidelines. Each month’s event theme is different in order to diversify our event’s services. Events have centered different themes such as soccer, wrestling, and field-day. These events strive to help our students advance their physical and social skills in an inclusive community-based environment.
EmpowerED Connections: Once every month we hold an event dedicated to advancing educational development opportunities for parents and educational staff that fall under our EmpowerED Connections guidelines. Events have centered different themes such as healthcare navigation, life insurance, and nutritional guidance. These events strive to educate our parents and staff on the available resources for their students with all abilities that center everyday living. We want our parents and staff to continue advancing their skills and knowledge for themselves and their children.
Our Services:
Scholarships: Through grant and donor funding, we give back to families who have children with special needs. This funding covers costs associated with services surrounding education and tutoring, healthcare (both physical and mental health services), behavioral support, food security, and similar areas. We are dedicated to helping all families have equitable access to necessary services, essential for a high quality of life.
School Resource Drives: We recognize that every student may not have the financial ability to cover costs associated with school resources. At select events we host school supply and resources drives that are aimed to overcome the financial obstacle some families may face. We collect a diverse range of supplies such as backpacks, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, etc and distribute to our students in need.
