Girls on the Run is a national organization with local not-for-profit chapters and we are excited to be to started this transformational afterschool program in Miami. GOTR teaches 3rd through 8th-grade girls life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons combined with running games. The season ends with a celebratory 5K for the girls and their families. The girls set individual lap goals throughout the season but also work together as a team and you can see the pride and confidence they've earned as they cross that finish line. GOTR establishes a lifetime appreciation of teamwork, fitness and healthy habits.
Mission
At Girls on the Run, we inspire girls to be healthy, confident, and joyful through running. It is part of the GOTR mission to provide our program at no cost to girls from lower socioeconomic and income-constrained backgrounds who require financial assistance to participate. Girls on the Run is for all girls and remains steadfast in serving the whole community by removing barriers to participation, financial and otherwise. In fall 2024, financial aid was provided to over 50% of our participants.
