Miami Shores Friendly Villagers

Building Community. Inspiring Connection. Giving Back.

Founded in 1975, the Miami Shores Friendly Villagers began as a small group of women welcoming new residents to the neighborhood. What started as a gesture of hospitality has grown into a respected organization dedicated to philanthropy, friendship, and civic engagement.

Our vision is to build a tightly-knit, inclusive community where everyone feels welcomed and valued. Through networking, charitable initiatives, and fostering a culture of friendship and integrity, we strive to make our community stronger.

Last year alone, the Friendly Villagers awarded 22 grants to local nonprofits and four scholarships to students in area public schools. Each recipient is celebrated at our Annual Heroes Luncheon and featured in local publications—helping their missions reach even more people.

Our members meet monthly to connect, collaborate, and uplift local causes. Throughout the year, we organize community initiatives including our Back-to-School Drive, which provided over 300 backpacks to children in need, and our Holiday Toy Drive, benefiting the Safe Space North domestic violence shelter, schools in Overtown, and the Miami-Dade County Foster & Adoptive Parent Association.

On Give Miami Day, your support helps us continue these efforts—strengthening the bonds that make Miami Shores a true community.

Mission

The Miami Shores Friendly Villagers are dedicated to enhancing our community by providing networking opportunities and engaging in charitable endeavors. We foster a welcoming environment of friendship, honesty, caring, sharing, and fun.
