Forever Family

Launched in 2002 on NBC 6 South Florida, Forever Family® is a nationally recognized media initiative that works with ABC, CBS,
NBC and FOX affiliates throughout Florida and North Carolina.
Forever Family® is a pioneering effort singularly dedicated to creating news stories and promotions to raise awareness and
support for children in the child welfare system. Each Forever Family® story and on-air promotion ends with a viewer call to
action.
Forever Family® television affiliates have provided more than 75 million dollars in earned media airtime, and viewing
impressions reaching more than 50 million annually.
Forever Family® is the only television program encompassing all aspects of the child welfare system of care, highlighting:
• waiting children
• foster parent recruitment
• needs and supports for foster and adoptive families
• foster youth with lived experience
• child safety, and other stories tailored to each community's specific needs
Forever Family® is a part of the fabric of the Florida and North Carolina child welfare systems and wholly unduplicated
anywhere in the nation.
• Data shows that children, teens and sibling groups featured on Forever Family® are three times more likely to find an
adoptive family than children who do not have a Forever Family video.
• Forever Family® is the only television program encompassing all aspects of the child welfare system of care.
• In the child welfare system of care, Forever Family® on a daily basis drives a new untapped market of families to open
their hearts and homes to foster and adopt the longest waiting children; raise supports and services for current and
former foster youth, and families adopting or fostering medically needy children.
