For nearly thirty five years, FUMC has served the homeless population of Miami. Three times a week we provide clean showers, hygiene kits, hot coffee, and fresh food to our unhoused neighbors downtown. It is a time to nourish the body and soul. Meals are prepared by various groups throughout Miami. This is an opportunity for any individual, family, or workplace to give back and make a difference in people's lives. A worship service for the homeless is also arranged on Sunday mornings by a rotation of leaders including a time of prayer. This is one of the central components of our community life and essential to who we are as a church. For years, volunteers from both our church and the community, including those of other faiths, have come to provide nourishment to those most in need. During the holidays we offer a special meal and gifts. The relationships that have been built during these years have been lasting and many persons who receive from the ministry now come and assist with meal preparation and distribution.
The Breakfast Club is fundraising to upgrade our kitchen at Greater Bethel AME with a new oven and stove, so we can continue serving hot, nutritious meals to our community 3 mornings a week. With your generous support, we’ll be able to improve efficiency, reduce wait times, and ensure every meal is prepared to perfection. Whether you’re a regular supporter or new to our cause, your donation will help fuel our mission to nourish both body and spirit. Let’s cook up something special together—one breakfast at a time!
