A GLOBAL ROBOTICS COMMUNITY PREPARING YOUNG PEOPLE FOR THE FUTURE

FIRST is More Than Robots®

Founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen, FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a global nonprofit that prepares young people for the future through inclusive, team-based robotics programs for ages 4–18.

And now—we’re bringing it to MIAMI!We’re thrilled to announce that the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition South Florida Regional will take place at the University of Miami’s Watsco Center, April 8–11, 2026.

Miami is quickly becoming a hub for innovation and discovery, but there’s still a gap between what our cutting-edge industries need and what students gain through traditional education. That’s where FIRST comes in—helping young people bridge that gap by turning textbook lessons into hands-on innovation and real-world problem solving.

Join us for this Sport of the Mind celebration, where students design, build, and compete with their robots in a high-energy, sports-like environment. Along the way, they develop teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills that last a lifetime. FIRST participants and alumni gain access to scholarships, mentors, and career opportunities—and a lifelong community that cheers them on.

The best part? The event is free and open to the public! But… renting the space, powering the lights, and feeding our amazing volunteers isn’t free—and that’s where you come in.

Your support helps us make the magic happen right here in Miami. Will you help us bring the excitement of FIRST to life?

Mission
