Florida Breast Cancer Coalition Research Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Founded by three Miami women in 1993, the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) has served Floridians impacted by breast cancer for more than 30 years--committed to ending the disease through research, education, and advocacy. Today, with offices in South and Central Florida, FBCF’s small but dedicated staff, alongside board members, volunteers, and supporters, extend our reach across the Sunshine State, remaining tireless in our mission, supporting Floridians and giving hope where there is none.

FBCF is a 4-Star, Exceptionally-Rated breast cancer charity by Charity Navigator with a nearly perfect score for Transparency and Accountability. FBCF can only maintain this coveted 4-star rating thanks to the ongoing support of people like you and the meticulous operations of the Foundation. Less than 20% of all nonprofits nationwide achieve this status. FBCF exceeds industry standards and outperforms others in our cause making FBCF a top-rated breast cancer organization in the state, and is among an elite number of breast cancer organizations in the country to receive this score.

Research: Only through research will breast cancer be defeated and FBCF funds innovative, collaborative breast cancer research that have potential to make a meaningful impact in the fight against breast cancer. FBCF's rigorous expert review process ensures FBCF-funded projects meet the highest standards and achieve impactful results.

Education: FBCF believes knowledge is power and educates Floridians on breast cancer through its dedicated staff, volunteers, and Education Grants that fund programs that promote breast health, support survivors, and reduce late-stage diagnoses. FBCF’s signature education program, MASS (Mammograms After Sunday Service), delivers breast health education and mammogram access to underserved minority communities.

Advocacy: Our volunteer-based advocacy arm is actively engaged in legislative advocacy across Florida, mobilizing Floridians to secure quality healthcare for all and funding for the Mary Brogan Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (BCCEDP), which provides lifesaving screenings to 15,000+ underserved women each year. Through its FBCF Virtual Advocacy Days, FBCF advocates connect with legislators and influence policies that protect and support those affected by breast cancer. The Jane Torres Scholarship Program helps assist advocates in obtaining training to deepen their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and make a greater impact in the fight against breast cancer.

Direct Services (Living Expense, Mammogram, and Medical Item Programs): FBCF supports the needs of Florida's breast cancer community and those needing additional assistance by providing Direct Services Grants to Florida nonprofits for mammograms, financial support during breast cancer treatment, and medical items to patients and survivors.

Support Resources: FBCF connects Floridians with the care, resources, and community support they need to face breast cancer with strength and hope. Through FBCF’s virtual support group, Live, Learn, Laugh, and online FBCF Community Yoga sessions, we offer additional guidance and healing.

FBCF is also the organization behind the End Breast Cancer specialty license plate which provides even more funds for breast cancer research and education programs in Florida. Our thrift store partner, Pickups for Breast Cancer, supports our mission through donations of clothing/household goods. 100% of funds raised stay in Florida. Support us and know your donation will help YOUR family, YOUR friends, YOUR neighbors, YOUR researchers. When we join efforts, we create momentum that matters--and we WILL end the suffering caused by breast cancer!
