FAIMH's mission is to support and strengthen the professionals who serve infants, young children and their families with an infant mental health lens. This means that the services they provide--whether they are a child care teacher, an early intervention specialist, a therapist or administrator of an early childhood program--are relationship-based, reflective practice that we know is best for children, families and the professionals themselves. Miami is where FAIMH's operations base and its strongest Chapter is located, and we serve a wide population of professionals here in Miami-Dade, all of whom are working with our most precious resource: the infants & young children of Miami. Your donation makes it possible for us to reach more babies' and young children's lives with our education, training and support for infant mental health.
Mission
FAIMH's vision is that one day, all children will be emotionally healthy, equipped to learn, and nurtured to develop their full potential. Our mission is to support and strengthen an infant mental health workforce to better serve the young children and families of Florida. We fulfill our mission by supporting our local Chapters in the critical work they do supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of children and families, as well as provide education and training through our Training Academy, and administer Florida's Infant Mental Health Endorsement for professionals working with infants, young children, and their families. As a professional association, we support everyone who works with children--from child care provider to mental health therapist--to better understand the importance of early relationships to healthy brain development and lifelong physical and mental health.
