Our mission is to ensure that every professional who touches a child’s life—from childcare teachers and early intervention specialists to therapists and program administrators—has the knowledge and support to practice through an infant mental health lens. That means building relationships, reflecting on practice, and nurturing the healthy emotional development that sets children on a path for lifelong success.

Miami is home to FAIMH’s operations base and our most active Chapter, serving hundreds of professionals dedicated to helping our community’s youngest children thrive.

Mission

FAIMH's vision is that one day, all children will be emotionally healthy, equipped to learn, and nurtured to develop their full potential. Our mission is to support and strengthen an infant mental health workforce to better serve the young children and families of Florida. We fulfill our mission by supporting our local Chapters in the critical work they do supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of children and families, as well as provide education and training through our Training Academy, and administer Florida's Infant Mental Health Endorsement for professionals working with infants, young children, and their families. As a professional association, we support everyone who works with children--from child care provider to mental health therapist--to better understand the importance of early relationships to healthy brain development and lifelong physical and mental health.
