Educate Tomorrow was founded in Miami in 2003 by the Emmons sisters, Melanie Damian, Virginia McNaught, Melissa McCarthy, Mary Dhanji, Lucy Spoerk and Beth Emmons, with the desire to make education attainable for all people. Since 2013 Educate Tomorrow has been led by husband and wife, Brett McNaught and Virginia Emmons McNaught. Brett and Virginia met as Peace Corps volunteers in 2001 and share a believe that given the opportunity all people can live a life of dignity, opportunity and well being. Together with a team of now 25 full time staff they have grown the organization from under $300,000 a year in revenue to over $5,000,000 in 2024. In 2025 Educate Tomorrow staff supported programs that served more than 10,000 students in Florida and Michigan.

Educate Tomorrow has received many awards and recognition from Miami Dade College, Florida International University, The State of Florida, The White House, Red Cross Women's Spectrum Awards, The New York Times, Voices for Children, Guardian Ad Litem, Florida Department of Children and Families and First Star Academy, to name a few.

Educate Tomorrow is recognized as a 4 out of 4 Star Charity by Charity Navigator and a Platinum Member by Guidestar, the highest levels of fiscal and leadership transparency awarded nationally. Educate Tomorrow is funded by numerous charitable foundations and individuals as well as government sources such as The Children's Trust, Step Up for Children, The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), The State of Michigan, and the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Educate Tomorrow assists youth and families who have been involved in the child welfare system, experienced unstable housing, or are seeking alternative education programs, helping them to access and obtain educational opportunities. Many students Educate Tomorrow serves qualify for free college through Florida's tuition waivers for foster, adopted and homeless youth.

In Miami alone, more than 1,100 students have graduated from college using tuition waivers since 2013. Educate Tomorrow provides wraparound support services focusing on housing, academics, well-being, and finances that allow those we serve to concentrate on their growth and development.

Educate Tomorrow students’ college graduation rates are now at 90+%. This level of college access, persistence and success is recognized as among the nation’s best in the field, and none of this would be possible without the generous support of people like you.
