Founded in 1990 by culinary educator and cookbook author Richard Grausman and co-chaired by world-renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, Culinary Careers Program (C•CAP) empowers under-resourced high school students & adults to become the next generation of leaders in food and hospitality through culinary arts education, job skills training, college scholarships, and career opportunities.
We believe in the power of food and hospitality to transform young lives by creating career pathways for the next generation of sous chefs, executive chefs, hospitality workers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, and food entrepreneurs.
Annually, C•CAP provides culinary, job, and life skills to over 25,000 middle-and-high school students in 186 high schools, including 7 schools in Miami:
- Booker T. Washington High School
- North Miami High School
- Homestead Senior High School
- Miami Northwestern Senior High School
- Miami Southridge Senior High School
- Miami Central Senior High School
- Miami Jackson Senior High School
To date, we have uplifted close to 400,000 students across the United States, including the entire state of Arizona, as well as in Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., and awarded $76 million in college scholarships. Many of our alumni are enjoying successful careers at award-winning restaurants and 5-star hotels around the globe.
