Caring for Miami

Caring For Miami is a faith based organization that works to improve the lives of under resourced children, families and individuals in Miami-Dade County. Through various programs, Caring For Miami works to fight food insecurity, as well as create access to affordable healthcare. 

Through the Backpack Program, Caring For Miami provides nutrient dense meals to food insecure children to ensure hunger free weekends. Through partnerships with various Title I schools across Miami Dade County, the Backpack Program identifies children in need to provide them with meals every week that they can take home and easily prepare on their own.

Caring For Miami's Project Smile Program provides free comprehensive dental care to low-income, uninsured individuals in Miami-Dade County. Our aim is to reduce the number of adults and children with untreated dental disease who are unable to otherwise access the care they need. Through the Project Smile Program, Caring For Miami responds to current community needs to improve access to affordable dental care and provide a dental home to economically disadvantaged individuals who reside in Miami-Dade County.

The Caring For Miami Mobile Market works to address food insecurity by distributing fresh, healthy foods to underserved neighborhoods across Miami Dade by way of a one aisle grocery “store” on wheels.  In collaboration with local partners our aim is to build and sustain hunger-free communities by closing gaps that exist in access to nutrition and education.

Together with our community partners such as Baptist Hospital, John T. MacDonald Foundation, Miami Dade County Public Schools, Christ Fellowship and many more, Caring For Miami is changing lives in Miami Dade County and working to ensure that our community is cared for; body, mind and soul.
