At Blue Waters Dog Rescue, we provide comprehensive care for each dog rescued, which includes shelter, food, spaying/neutering, medication, necessary medical treatment through veterinarian services, and professional training to prepare them for adoption. In addition, we extend our support to the broader community by offering supplies, training assistance, and sharing valuable resources with our community in need.

Unique Dog Fostering Home Program

Tiffany Skuraton, founder and President of Blue Waters Dog Rescue (BWDR). "I am pleased to introduce you to our unique service model."

As a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals in need. Our focus is on rescuing and rehabilitating animals, then finding them forever homes. Part of this process involves foster care programs. We believe that the therapeutic value animals can have on someone's life is often overlooked, and we want to help people who have been affected by substance abuse and other difficult situations. Through this unique foster care model, finding new hope through the love and companionship of a foster dog is working.  Our rescued dogs are housed in 12 Step Recovery homes with residents recovering from substance abuse. These symbiotic relationships offer support, and a chance for them both to learn that real love is unconditional.

About the Partnership

The Dog Rescue, partnering with the Blue Water Recovery Foundation (BWRF) has been a game changer. BWRF which has seven facilities spread across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, pairs individuals who live in its facilities with pets in need of a foster. In 2023 alone, Blue Waters Rescue paired 29 dogs and cats with recovering residents in BWRF to help prepare them for permanent adoption and future forever homes. With an additional 8 animals that were placed in outside foster homes.  We regularly have around 20 animals in our care, preparing them for adoption.  All residents are pre-screened to determine the individual’s suitability for pairing & fostering. With the help of care coordinators & professional pet trainers, we arrange for the best environment while in resident's fostering care.

What we need

At the present time the dog rescue is challenged with a need for funding to continue taking in rescues and improve our rescue mission.  The care and welfare of our rescued dogs is our major focus, but funding is sometimes scarce. The BWDR operates solely through donations from our supporters. You can make a difference. Please donate to our Dog Rescue Today!

How you can Help

We are in critical need of funds for food, supplies, spaying, neutering services, annual shots, monthly preventatives, emergency as well as regularly needed - veterinarian’s services. The veterinarian services last year cost us $27,000 alone. Funds are also needed for professional training services to prepare all dogs for their new lives in forever homes which without this are sometimes labeled unadoptable,  this costs upwards of $12,000 per year.  The approximate annual cost to provide all of our rescue services varies from year to year and can average well over $60,000 and rising. Every bit of support is needed.

Our Goal is 100k

We are currently seeking to raise $100,000 to provide Blue Waters Dog Rescue with the support and resources needed to alleviate some of the financial pressures associated with the vital work we do. Due to financial constraints, our ability to make a larger impact in the community is limited, despite our capacity to do much more. Your tax-deductible donation will not only help strengthen and expand our program, but you will also receive a tax receipt at checkout. Your generous support will continue to provide essential services to canines in need throughout Broward and Miami-Dade counties for years to come.

Mission

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals in need. Our focus is on rescuing and rehabilitating animals, then finding them forever homes. We believe that the therapeutic value animals can have on someone's life is often overlooked, and we want to help people who have been affected by addiction or other difficult situations find new hope through the love and companionship of a foster animal. Our rescue dogs are housed in sober living homes with recovering alcoholics and addicts. These symbiotic relationships offer support, and a chance for them both to learn that real love is unconditional.
