Bring Back Beyond ASD

A place to belong. A community to grow in. A future worth building.

For our young adults, Beyond ASD was more than a day program.

It was a place where they were known.

A place to walk in and feel, “I belong here.”

At Beyond ASD, young adults with different abilities spent their days building friendships, developing independence, working, creating, moving, exploring their community, and discovering what they could contribute.

They learned and practiced activities of daily living—the everyday skills that build greater independence and confidence. They participated in meaningful work experiences and learned what it meant to have responsibilities, complete a job, work alongside others, and contribute to something larger than themselves.

They worked on assembly projects for community events and local organizations. They cooked, organized, cleaned, practiced daily routines, and developed skills they could carry into their homes, workplaces, and communities.

And they had fun.

They went bowling and visited museums. They made art, danced, exercised, played instruments, sang karaoke, visited the library, explored their community, celebrated together, and built real friendships.

Because adulthood should be about more than learning skills.

It should also be about having a life you enjoy and a community where you belong.

In June, we had to pause our day program.

For several years, we personally carried a significant portion of the cost required to keep Beyond ASD operating. We did it because we believed deeply in the program and in the young adults who found a home within it.

But love for a mission is not enough to make that mission sustainable.

In June 2026, we made the difficult decision to pause our day program so that we could step back, restructure, raise the funding it truly requires, and build a model that can last.

But we did not close the door on Beyond ASD.

And we are not giving up on bringing it back.

Mission

Beyond ASD is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between vocational training and sustainable employment for young adults on the autism spectrum.

We don’t just train—we employ. Through hands-on experience assembling therapeutic products and working within inclusive, therapist-led environments, participants gain meaningful work, essential life skills, and holistic wellness support. Our model ensures that each individual is not only job-ready but job-supported, every step of the way.
