The Association of Venezuelan Journalists Abroad (APEVEX) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the professional development of its members and upholding the principles of freedom of expression, media pluralism, and human rights.
Founded on June 27, 2012, in the United States, APEVEX is the first association of Venezuelan journalists established outside of Venezuela.
The organization conducts activities such as forums, conferences, and panel discussions focused on press and information freedom in Venezuela and other Latin American countries where these rights are under threat.
APEVEX also leads and supports awareness campaigns denouncing the harassment, violence, and judicial persecution faced by journalists and media outlets.
Furthermore, the organization actively collaborates with other press associations and professional journalism bodies in initiatives that advocate for the protection of free expression, freedom of the press, and access to information.
APEVEX maintains a strictly non-partisan stance and does not endorse any political position.
The funds raised by APEVEX during Give Miami Day 2025 have had a positive and significant impact on our organization, allowing us to strengthen our programs, support initiatives benefiting Venezuelan journalists in exile in Miami-Dade County and other areas of the U.S., and continue promoting our work.
These contributions have been essential to expanding our reach, developing new activities, and maintaining an active organization committed to its members and the community we represent. Each donation has thus become an opportunity to continue growing and generating a tangible impact.
