A contemporary-based dance company led by Artistic Director Angel Fraser-Logan, a master teacher and award-winning choreographer, the Angel Fraser-Logan Dance Company (AFLDC) provides dance instruction to youth while nurturing the talent of emerging professional dance artists and choreographers. Founded in 2002, AFLDC is dedicated to providing professional level opportunities to emerging choreographers and young dancers, particularly children and youth in underserved areas in the south part of Miami-Dade County. With the support of the community, AFLDC was created to cultivate dance artists in order to strengthen Miami's dance talent pool. Trained in various dance disciplines, Angel studied modern jazz with Mia Michaels, becoming the 1989 Junior National Dance Champion. Angel received the Dance Educators of America Choreographic Award (1996, 1997) and a medal at the World Congress in Chicago (2002). Angel was commissioned in 2003 by The Cedar Lake Dance Company to create a new work, which toured internationally and received rave reviews such as "moving both figuratively and literally, exquisitely, provocative," from The Village Voice. Seeing a need to provide students from low income backgrounds with access to opportunities to train and perform, AFLDC was established and has successfully nurtured the talent of hundreds of children and youth, providing scholarship for young dancers in underserved areas.

AFLDC alumni include Jamar Roberts (Ailey); Brandon Byrant, (Britney Spears); Justin Rapaport (Julliard/Ballet BC); Nina Lafarga (On Your Feet, Broadway). Alumni have studied at The Juilliard School, Fordham University, New World School of the Arts, American Dance Festival, Jacob's Pillow or have professional dance careers with major companies such as Ailey, Complexions Contemporary Dance Company and Ballet BC; with artists such as Janet Jackson, Madonna, Britney Spears and Usher; or on Broadway (42 Street/West Side Story).
