At the Advocacy Network on Disabilities, Miami's support has been nothing short of miraculous, supporting families who had nowhere to turn. Yet, even as we celebrate each success, we are reminded daily of an ongoing challenge that awaits a solution—the significant upfront costs of housing.

It's about the families we meet who, despite having steady incomes, find the lump sum for first and last month’s rent, plus security deposit, an Everest too steep to climb. These are the unseen barriers that keep parents and children in their cars and low-cost hotels when a home is just within reach.

Donations given during Give Miami Day, are transformative. They're not just funds; they’re keys to new beginnings, immediate answers to long-held prayers for a place to call home.

Your open-handed giving is a direct strike against the cycle of homelessness, a bold statement that says, “Everyone deserves a home.”As you sift through requests this Give Miami Day, we hope you’ll remember the families who will sit around their own dinner table, perhaps for the first time in years, because of you.

Your consideration means the world to us and to the families waiting for their forever home. Together, we can weave a tapestry of support that wraps every Miami family in warmth and dignity.

Giving Activity

Mission

ADVOCACY NETWORK ON DISABILITIES (AND)champions the rights of individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities by promoting inclusion, providing services, and advancing systems change.

1,000 families annually access the services they need and want. Care coordination, parent education, counseling, advocacy, and emergency financial funding is available to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities; children with developmental, sensory, physical, social-emotional and other conditions; and family members and professionals working with them. AND collaborates with dozens of community partners to facilitate the full participation in community life of people with disabilities and their families. Diversity and equity are incomplete without the inclusion of people with disabilities. Finally, more than 1,000 people receive training and coaching about appropriately including people with disabilities in their programs.
