Our program aims to provide neurologically and genetically disabled children in Miami-Dade and Broward counties with the therapy needed to improve quality of life.
Grants are awarded based on financial need. Act4Me closes the economic gap and ensures equity for all children with disabilities by making life-altering therapies accessible to those who otherwise could not afford it. Every year, South Florida parents and caretakers apply to Act4Me for therapy for a child with special needs. Act4Me reviews applications, interviews applicants, determines award amounts, and provides the therapy needed for an entire year through partnerships with established providers. Scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply at the end of their term. insurance coverage. Qualifying families are awarded $3,500 each for 1 to 2 weekly therapy sessions at the center of their choice allowing them to provide their child the care they need. While Act4Me's general program is open to children ages 1 to 18 in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, the vast majority of participants are children ages 4 to 10 from low-income families in Miami-Dade County. This grant will specifically serve Miami-Dade County residents. Neurological and genetic disorders don't discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity, or sex, and neither does Act4Me.
Envisioning a world in which all children with neurological and genetic disabilities are able to reach their highest potantial, through having access to much needed therapy that enables them to stive for a better future for them and their families, regardless of their financial posibilities.
