The Miami short Film Festival (MIAMIsFF) is the only film festival dedicated to the short film genre within South Florida, and one of only two within the State. The festival aims to bring this form of filmmaking into the spotlight while highlighting important themes and topics that resonate across cultural and linguistic boundaries. MIAMIsFF is the launching point for original scripts, new cinematography and film techniques, innovative perspectives and unique pieces of true emotion and expression caught on film. With the philosophy that today's short films lead to tomorrow's world-renowned filmmakers, MIAMIsFF is a powerful voice that has created a positive influence on the arts through film. The festival is a dedicated contributor to the culture, economy and the arts of Miami-Dade County increasing its vitality, vibrancy and the quality of life for residents and tourists.
We are proud of our growth from a small gathering of local filmmakers to a cultural institution focused on celebrating short films and highlighting the importance and vitality of our local film community. MIAMIsFF celebrates the art of motion pictures with a schedule of public screenings (5-8 films per screening), panel discussions, tribute lectures, special event screenings, outreach programs and film workshops, allowing the public to experience the magic of filmmaking.
