Miami Country Day School

Our vision is to be a global PK3-12 school community where excellence in values-based, purposeful, and experiential learning happens for every student, every day, everywhere: at home, in the classroom, in Miami, and around the globe.

Our expertise in learning, remote and in person pedagogy, and inclusive, culturally responsive, and interdisciplinary design, make our program truly innovating and tailored for a globally-minded community. Our emphasis on entrepreneurship, social and environmental responsibility, personal well being, and the arts ensures a variety of contexts for learning and development.

Founded in 1938, Miami Country Day was a residential boarding school for boys Kindergarten through eighth grade. The Country Day movement began as a progressive educational movement in the late 19th Century in the Northeast. Children would not just sit in their seats as receptacles for knowledge but learn in and out of the classroom, thereby exploring their full potenential. Country Day has evolved over the past 81 years pioneering the education of the whole child. We are now a coeducational, nonprofit, interdenominational learning community with approximately 1250 students in PK3 through 12th grade, representing over 40 countries. The school's first graduating senior class was in 1981.

Students are exposed to culture and expression through the arts, leadership and teamwork through athletics, compassion and humility through service, and intellectual thought and curiosity through our outcomes based and student centered curriculum.

The school is accredited by FCIS and SACS; active membership is maintained in NACAC, SACAC, ACCIS, NAIS, SAIS, CASE, CRIS, ERB, American Library Association and the College Board.
