Founded by artists for artists in 1998, Locust Projects is a nationally recognized alternative art space and incubator of new art and ideas, filling a vital role in Miami's arts ecosystem for artists and visitors alike.

Join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary Year and HELP MAKE ART HAPPEN in our new home in Little River by CHAMPIONING Locust Projects on Give Miami Day. Donations help us do even more to support artists with unique opportunities to experiment on a large scale and create ambitious, large-scale new work. With an expansive new home that doubles exhibition space and provides artists with studios, woodshop and a new digital innovation lab that invites artists to experiment and push their practice across media.

Our mission in motion is fueled by local and national grants and vital donations from you! Gifts of $1,000 and above are recognized as donations to the 2023-2024 Incubator Fund supporting our core programs.

WE MAKE ART HAPPEN: Providing local, national and international artists with opportunities to push their practice and create ambitious new work is at the core of what we do. We produce, present, and nurture the creation of experimental new art and the exchange of ideas through commissioned exhibitions and programs on contemporary art and curatorial practice. We are distinct in supporting installations not possible in traditional venues and providing artists with fees, production budgets and residencies. Admission has been and will always be free.

WE PROVIDE VITAL ARTIST RESOURCES - Miami artists of all disciplines empower and expand their careers with support from LegalARTLink, pro bono legal services and professional development resources. Since 2015, WaveMaker Grants, a national regranting program of the Warhol Foundation, has awarded $570,000 in incubator grants to 116 Miami artists for socially-driven public projects across Miami.

WE MENTOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF ARTISTS - For 13 years we have inspired aspiring artists through Locust Art Builders Summer Art Intensive, providing full scholarships for up to 30 teens from across Miami to collaboratively build an exhibition from scratch and learn about creative careers from professional artists and arts professionals
