With Americans for the Arts reporting 62% of artists fully unemployed and 95% reporting significant income loss, Locust Projects has focused on supporting our community of artists with access to resources and opportunities to navigate the pandemic. We are providing information on artist relief resources on all digital platforms and shifted to online programming including a new LegalARTLink webinar series to empower artists facing cancelled contracts, commissions, and evictions. The program has supported four times the number of requests for pro bono legal services since the year before. We provided Warhol-funded emergency relief grants to Miami artists, announced new WaveMaker incubator grants, and are commissioning content from Miami artists for our new blog. This summer our teen LAB art intensive was reimagined virtually and resulted in an 80-foot long public art installation along North Miami Ave. We are still making art happen by sustaining funding to artists working on their 2020-2021 commissioned projects and reopened to the public by appointment in July.
