KIPP Miami Public Schools

A nonprofit organization

KIPP believes that great teachers and school leaders, a supportive learning environment, and an emphasis on both academics and character are the foundation for student success. The proof is in our outcomes - KIPP alumni complete college at a rate that is above the national average for all students and approximately four times higher than that of students from similar economic backgrounds.

So what makes KIPP Miami different?

High Expectations - Clearly defined and measurable high expectations for academic achievement and conduct that creates and reinforces a culture of achievement and support. We know that every student is different and we personalize learning based on a student's needs, skills, and interests.

Strength of Character - Success in life depends on more than academic learning. We help students foster character strengths that are essential for their own success. And we empower them to express their voice and improve the world around them.

Highly-Skilled Teachers and Leaders - Great schools require great teachers and school leaders. We empower our school teams and invest in leadership and training rather than in bureaucracy.

Safe & Structured Environments - Physical and emotional safety is needed for students to take risks and learn from their successes and their mistakes. Our schools provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment with minimal distractions so our students love school and maximize their learning.

KIPP Forward - Our counselors and advisors support students as they prepare for and select the right college for their needs and interests. After high school, we help KIPP alumni navigate the social, academic, and financial challenges they might encounter while in college, trade school, or career.

Mission

KIPP Miami seeks to create and sustain high-achieving and inspiring community schools that battle inequity by empowering students to develop the knowledge, skills, character strengths, and habits to thrive in college and beyond, shape their futures, and positively impact the world.

Launched in August 2018, KIPP Miami is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national non-profit network of free, public, open-enrollment college-preparatory charter schools educating more than 120,000 elementary, middle, and high school students across the country. We have a 25-year track record of preparing students in educationally underserved communities for success in college and life. We currently operate two schools educating more than 1,200 children in K- 8th grade. At KIPP, teachers, students, families, and our partners are all united around the same goal -a choice-filled life. Your generosity supports our programming, our facilities, and our vision to transform education equity in Miami.
