For people already living with mental illness, the physical isolation, anxiety about the future, and shortage of money and supplies caused by the pandemic has made life extremely difficult.
Our goal has been to help our members stay safe, well and socially connected.
On March 17, The Key Clubhouse closed its doors and began operating as a "virtual Clubhouse" to ensure that our members and staff stay safe from exposure to COVID-19. Many of our members have underlying health conditions that put them especially at risk for COVID-19. We provide daily outreach and support to our members through at least 12 Zoom meetings and activities per week, phone calls and group messaging. We have also purchased smart phones to enable members to participate in Zoom activities. The Clubhouse also operates a Food Bank and delivers food, PPE supplies, and medications to homebound members twice a week.
The Clubhouse has also found jobs for members who are able to work safely to help them financially and connected them with other support services.
