Hued Songs uses the power of music and the arts to seed personal and collective Belonging for Black and Brown artists, creatives, and community members across South Florida. Our work is rooted on a quest to amplify Black culture, creativity, and  Belonging.

Through the arts, creative placemaking, and community building, our work is transforming the community we live in and interrogating the systems of Othering imbued within our society. We are guided by three central tenets:

  • To be a platform where Black and Brown artists can be seen, heard, and paid. We seek to be a positive economic stimulus for Black and Brown artists and creatives.
  • The arts are a right; not a privilege. We actively work to remove barriers centering cost, location, and perception that our communities face when experiencing the arts.
  • The arts are a conduit to build and strengthen community. The way we make sense of the world is through the arts- We create experiences that center Black culture that invite discourse, empathy, and understanding.

Mission

Hued Songs produces performances across South Florida that amplify Black joy, Black creativity, and BlackBelonging. Through song, spoken word, dance, and heart, our work is rooted across three core principles:

1) To provide a platform through which BIPOC artists can be seen, heard, and paid;

2)The arts are a right and not a privilege, thus we work to remove cost, geography, and perception barriers to every performance and gathering;

3)Every performance is an opportunity to build belonging, empathy, and community for all.
