The latest United Nations IPCC report shows that we are in a CODE RED regarding our global warming pollution. While 7 out of 10 Americans believe that global warming is happening, only 4 out of 10 think it will harm them personally (Yale Climate Communication 2020). The reality is that the climate crisis is already here and our most vulnerable residents, are already feeling disproportionate impacts. From our health to our economy, to our national security, to the loss of our biodiversity, the rise of heat-trapping emissions is to blame resulting in more intense extreme weather events, like deadly heatwaves, droughts, fires, and catastrophic hurricanes, floods, and rising sea levels.
THE SOLUTION: Drawdown heat-trapping gases from the atmosphere with urgent, bold, just, climate policies while building climate resilience.
HOW DO WE GET THERE? All of us using our voices to advocate for change where we live work, study, and pray. Elected leaders will do more if we have an informed and engaged public demanding it.
HOW DOES CLEO DO IT? Accelerate climate education, advocacy, and engagement at the local, state, and federal level.
United, we stand to protect our state, our younger generations, and our biodiversity.
