Bridge to Hope was founded in 1988 to provide local food stamp recipients with personal hygiene products. As we learned more about the devastating effects of poverty on nutrition, health, and wellbeing, we changed our name from "Not By Bread Alone" to "Bridge to Hope" and expanded the scope of our services to become one of the most comprehensive resources for low income residents in our community. This includes a disaster relief and recovery programs that have served Miami-Dade and beyond since Hurricane Andrew. Previous to Covid-19 Bridge to Hope impacted an average of 4000 people each month. Currently we serve 8,000-10,000 every month - and demand is growing every day. Our programs include a fresh, healthy food pantry, health screenings, hygiene products, home essentials (sheets, dishes, etc.) school supplies, financial literacy, and computer skills. Bridge to Hope is an equal opportunity provider. We value kindness, compassion, equity, and inclusion. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to thrive.
