Founded in 1985 in a former industrial Art Deco-era bakery, Bakehouse Art Complex is among the largest and oldest not-for-profit spaces in South Florida. We provide space, community, and opportunity to support the highest level of artistic development and interdisciplinary collaboration. Bakehouse is a place where arts, technology, people, and ideas can converge, collide, and flourish.

The Bakehouse community comprises over 100 working artists whose work represents a broad range of media and practices, from painting to performance, from traditional to experimental. We provide our artists with a platform to develop their practices, collaborate with other artists and institutions both locally and internationally, and share their work with the public.

We are on an ambitious path to become an important node for all types of critical conversations and encounters that demonstrate the transformative power of art. Our mission is to build and cultivate an ecosystem where creativity thrives, collaboration is second nature, and South Florida remains a beacon of culture and innovation. We need your help on our journey to shape the future of Bakehouse. Together, we strive to build a community that contributes to our collective tapestry.
