Life at The Bridge has certainly changed. While we are closed to the public and no longer generating an income, we remain open to our residents. Additionally, we have provided free use of our event space as well as technical support to our residents who have been producing live stream performances and submissions for notable music festivals such as lollapalooza. We have also been providing free use of our live recording/event space to our resident musicians so that they can safely rehearse with more space than they have in their private studios in the building; or to record parts for clients, taking advantage of the superior quality of sound in our live room. While this comes at a cost to us in additional utilities usage, which certainly adds up in a large space in the summer, we feel that it's more important than ever to support our residents who make their living through live performance. They need us now more than ever. It is especially challenging though, since we have had to halt all events and recording sessions, we are unable to generate any income to cover added costs.
