Richmond Heights Community Association, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Richmond Heights Community Association, Inc., was established after Hurricane Andrew and provided residents with housing, food, health care, tutorial services, law enforcement support, and basic necessary items needed to return to a more stable everyday life.  We became a referral and citizen one-stop agency for the residents of the Richmond Heights community, as well as surrounding communities.

The Program provides an array of services and referrals to customers from Richmond Heights to Homestead and Florida City.  Each year the center has striven to address the growing needs and areas of concern to these communities.  As resources and grant funding availability decreases, we focus our efforts more diligently on ensuring that there remains an avenue for our community, our citizens, and our children to have a voice in service requirements. We provide an array of services and referrals through our a variety of programs: Food Collection Program (Publix (Bread/Baked Goods), French Bakery, and Farm Share Program), Transportation Program (Miami-Dade County Transit Disadvantage Program), Humana Health Insurance Referrals, ACCESS (Automated Community Connection to Economic Self-Sufficiency – partner, State Attorney Liaison Program, Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Service Department – partner, Referral and Information, AARP Foundation (American Association of Retired Persons).

We believe everyone has the right to opportunities that will improve lives, for this reason, we will continue to exhaust all efforts to assist in ensuring that provisions are available to each one in Richmond Heights, as well as the surrounding communities.  Through various community service provisions and partnerships, Richmond Heights Community Association, Inc. – Resource Center strives to provide an avenue that assists in improving the quality of life of the individuals and families we serve.   Our team, along with the community, providers, organizations, business-community partnerships, volunteers, and mentors ensure that our customers’ basic needs are met.  We are and will continue to be driven by a desire to help and mobilize resources/services that meet and address the needs of everyone served in our community.

Richmond Heights Community Association, Inc. – Resource Center is “committed to helping others” through the collective efforts of our community, resource center director, board members, and input from our partners.  We continue to find ways to provide and improve our services for the community.  Since our establishment, it has been our goal to assist children, youth, families, and our seniors to achieve self-sufficiency and improved quality of lives.   In our own way, we hope to alleviate poverty and hunger and create an enriched and stronger community.
