Richmond Heights Community Inc. - Resource Center's Diminishing Poverty and Hunger Program provides an array of services and referrals to customers from Richmond Heights to Homestead, Florida. Each year the center has striven to address the growing needs and areas of concern to these communities. As resources and grant funding availability decreases, we focus our efforts more diligently on ensuring that there remains an avenue for our community, our citizens, and our partners to have a voice in service requirements. We provide services and referrals through our:
Food Collection: and Farm Share Program:
• Bread, Bakery goods, and Farm Share Produce/Commodities are transported to the center, marked, separated, packaged, and distributed to our customers.
• Fresh Farm Produce (fresh fruits-seasonal, fresh vegetables, eggs) and
• Commodities (can goods and commodities) one to two times a month
• Bread and Bakery Goods are distributed at a minimum 3 days.
• Food Baskets and Turkeys provided Thanksgiving and Christmas

Transportation Program (Miami-Dade County Transit Disadvantage Program):
Monthly and Weekly Bus Passes are provided to residents who are able to afford to obtain transportation to work and school.

ACCESS (Automated Community Connection to Economic Self-Sufficiency) (partner)
State Attorney Liaison Program:
State Attorney Liaison will respond to legal questions from customers and make referrals and assistance when possible on a referral bases.
Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Service Department (partner)
Referral and Information:
Referrals and information are provided Monday through Friday for services (i.e., social security and other local governmental agencies and community resources for new and recurring customers. Efforts to ensure a point of contact will be made to ensure service alliances and partnerships.

Mission

The mission of Richmond Heights Community Association - Resource Center is to enhance the quality of life in our customers' in meeting their basic needs through advocacy, education, and service provisions that will lead to a reduction of hunger and poverty.
