ProjectArt

A nonprofit organization

ProjectArt Miami is a central hub within ProjectArt, a national program in 9 US cities. Although a center for contemporary art, art education in Miami is still greatly lacking. ProjectArt reaches these underserved communities and gives free, effective and safe teaching to kids.

ProjectArt art classes are proven to help kids think critically, problem-solve, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively as they mature into young adults. See our stats:

93% of ProjectArt students confidence and self-esteem improved
94% gain a better understanding of art techniques
87% have made new friends through ProjectArt
95% feel that their art-making has improved
96% enjoy their ProjectArt class

Mission

ProjectArt Miami is the leading out-of-school program for underserved K-12 students, providing innovative, creative, and effective teaching visual arts in partnership with public libraries, in turn activating their infrastructure and encouraging reading. ProjectArt defines underserved as those lacking adequate access to art programs and cultural opportunities because of economic conditions, race or ethnic background, geography, disability, abuse, or neglect.

In addition to free art classes, we serve the artist community by hiring them to teach, develop their teaching skills, while giving them time and space to create new artwork to share with their fellow artist residents and students.
