Operation PAW, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

We've been very busy helping cats in Miami and Jupiter!

Our partnership with the ASPCA has been productive - we've sterilized over 2000 community cats in the last year!  We have also participated in spay/neuter events with Miami-Dade Animal Services & Darbster. These Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return efforts have impacted the areas of Liberty City, Little Haiti, Miami Gardens, North Miami and North Miami Beach.  We've also rescued almost 500 cats/kittens for adoption. Our targeted trapping program is expanding...with your help we can make a real difference!

Operation PAW also assists with heartbreaking hoarding/animal cruelty cases. In many of these tragic situations, the only solution is euthanasia - we do our best to ensure every single cat that can be saved is rescued, vetted and placed in a safe refuge. It is especially difficult to find help for 50+ sick, feral and/or traumatized felines...a truly heroic feat accomplished by our Director Wendy!

Our working cat program is also thriving.   We've successfully placed 50+ cats at farms, fisheries and nurseries to control vermin. These cats come from dangerous locations in Miami and cannot be returned to their territory. But they are also unable to be placed for transport or adoption due to health, temperament or behavior. This lifesaving program provides the creative alternative necessary for them to be in a safe environment.

Mission

Operation PAW is an all volunteer, non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless animals in South Florida. Animal homelessness is a problem across the United States, but South Florida is particularly vulnerable to this issue due to the warm climate and widespread misconceptions about animals. Operation PAW's mission is to change the status quo and help our community become truly no-kill. An informed public is the best way to achieve these goals. We seek to strengthen the bond between humans and animals through various programs (such as TNVR, foster, transport, adoption), legislative reform & pet counseling. Please join us and find out how you can help animals!
