Children battling cancer spend weeks to months at a time in-patient, when they are not in the hospital their little bodies are constantly immuno-compromised so they must stay out of public places such as toy stores and playgrounds. For this reason, we opened the Heroes Hangout, a Childhood Cancer Haven, dedicated solely to our children battling cancer and their families. The Heroes Hangout provides a fun & magical place where our kids can come hang out, play video games, do crafts, 'shop' for toys (at no cost!!), attend special events, celebrate Birthdays, hold End-Of-Treatment celebrations, and just have fun as all kids should, without the worries of the outside world. The Heroes Hangout is 100% community supported, everything within the Hangout has been donated as well as the space itself. We hold monthly themed parties and are open at any time for our families to enjoy a safe, fun place outside the hospital between treatments. Donations of new toys, blankets, arts & crafts, and snacks are always needed and greatly appreciated. There is no cost whatsoever to our Childhood Cancer families to attend the Hangout or for any of our celebrations or events.
