Moving the Needle, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

We must work across sectors and collaboratively to move the needle on raising our standard of living (material well-being) of the majority in our community. In Miami-Dade County, 60% of households earn less than what it costs to live in our community, with 40% of these households working and not receiving governmental assistance.

This fiscal year we seek to:

1) Develop a community-wide shared vision and approach to economic opportunity and raising the standard of living (material well-being) of our community . Ultimately, we seek to develop a shared impact reporting framework.

2) Develop and dissimenate an "Opportunity" voter guide reviewing the candidates for mayor of Miami Dade County in 2020.

3) Pilot a project showing the feasibility of scaling coaching and financial stability services to our target population (40% of households working and earning less than the cost of living) by increasing the use of technology and research.

Mission

Encouraging impact to enable our community to reach its fullest potential while all individuals and families attain financial stability and well-being regardless of their zip code or when they arrived in our city. We seek to reduce the number of working households earning less than the cost of living in Miami Dade County. Currently, 40% of working households in Miami Dade County earn at or less than the cost of living.
