The Miami-Broward One Carnival Host Committee is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing a safe, family festival in South Florida and outlying areas, fostering community pride and civic involvement, and providing critical opportunities to the Caribbean people in South Florida to share the Caribbean culture, promote cultural exchange and build economic cooperation in the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment of South Florida.

We will be participating in the 11th annual celebration of Give Miami Day, under our Miami Carnival Jr. Carnival program. Give Miami Day is a 24-hour online campaign where non-profit organizations call for donations to give back to the community.

Miami Carnival celebrates young people with their annual Jr. Carnival. This culturally enriching event includes the parade of youth masqueraders competing for bragging rights and prizes, arts and crafts, face painting, calypso competition, Panorama show, and other youth-inspired activities. Junior Carnival is a platform for showcasing the Caribbean culture and an excellent opportunity for youth to participate. It's also a great avenue for developing artistry.

The impact of Caribbean-American and American youth involvement in Junior Carnival goes further than the impression on the youth. Jr. Carnival features vibrant music, culture, colors, and food of the Caribbean. The day allows children of other cultures to understand and appreciate the artistry in a different format. Participants grow to understand the true meaning of carnival and its importance for Caribbean culture.

Carnival is unique because it is the one cultural tradition synonymous with every Caribbean island. Therefore, it is important to the Miami Broward One Carnival Host Committee for young people to understand who they are because carnival is a part of their history. The key to continuing this culture is for the younger generation to learn and become the embodiment of their Caribbean culture.
