How do you stay home when home is not safe? Miami Bridge answers this question by providing a safe space for neglected, abandoned, and truant youth facing homelessness.
Nearly every aspect of our operations and supportive services have been modified to protect the health and safety of those we shelter amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Miami Bridge has implemented more programming supports in education, arts and activities for our youth, protective equipment for youth and staff, and new operating and counseling protocols to deliver important child and family counseling as part of our community outreach efforts. Much has gone into setting up virtual learning and entertainment activities indoors to keep things as normal as possible for those we serve. These measures have meant thousands of dollars in unexpected expenses as we prepare for an increase in youth housing instability, which will follow in the wake of the pandemic.
