MACtown has made it a priority to protect and safeguard the residents, and staff during the COVID19 Pandemic. We have had to make significant adjustments to this yea'rs budget in order to purchase PPE Supplies to keep the people we serve, individuals with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities safe. We are grateful for the donations of PPE supplies and gear that we receive from local businesses , non profits and state organizations. It has been a humbling yet rewarding experience working with and developing relationships with so many generous individuals in the community. This pandemic has taken an emotional and mental toll on everyone. The state and federal mandates that restricted visitation of family members and loved ones was especially difficult for the people we serve. At this time, we are still not out of the woods, since there seems to be a rise in COVID19 cases and the possibility of a second wave. With the ongoing shortages of essential PPE supplies and the astronomical increase in the cost, MACtown is facing a real challenge in our efforts to secure these much needed supplies. We continue to seek help and avenues that will allow us to maintain the health and safety of our dedicated workers "HEROES" and the MACtown Residents.
