VIDA provides legal representation in immigration matters to survivors of domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and other violent crimes.

VIDA was founded in February 2011 in response to a great need for culturally and linguistically specific services for immigrant survivors of violent crimes, and the need for an organization that employs a rights-based approach in the provision of legal services through a holistic, care-coordinated, and client-centered model. We works with marginalized and vulnerable populations to end the cycle of violence and exploitation; and envision a world where all human beings are able to fully enjoy and exercise the right to self-determination, be safe, be self-sufficient, and participate in society. As the leading immigrant legal services organization in Florida with the sole purpose of assisting immigrant survivors using a client-centered, trauma-informed model, VIDA carries out its mission and vision through a combination of legal assistance, collaboration, outreach and education, technical assistance, training, mentoring and systemic change advocacy; always utilizing the experiences of its clients to inform every aspect of its activities.
