Farm Share: Standing With Florida’s Working Families
Farm Share is Florida’s homegrown food bank, built by Floridians and for Floridians. Founded in Miami in 1991 with the simple idea of rescuing fresh crops from local farmers and giving them to neighbors in need, Farm Share has grown into Florida’s largest independent food bank and the fourth largest in the United States.
For more than three decades, we have stood with Miami’s hardworking families. We are the only food bank trusted with USDA’s TEFAP program in Miami, and for decades we have been the first to respond when food insecurity and disaster struck our community.
In 2024, Farm Share distributed more than 105 million pounds of food to over 23 million households across Florida, including 38 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables grown by Florida’s farmers. Every bag of groceries we give is free. We will never charge for food.
But this year has brought enormous challenges. Demand has risen, and funding sources are getting thin. Costs rose in recent years, tightening the noose around working families, our neighbors, our teachers, our nurses, and families cannot wait. Now, more than ever, Miami needs Farm Share. And Farm Share needs you.
Stand with us. Stand with Miami’s families. Together, we will fight food insecurity, and together, we will win.
